Chiropractic adjustments are also called spinal manipulation. An adjustment involves putting a force into a joint that has abnormal movement. This helps correct the abnormal movement that was causing pain, stiffness and inflammation.
I specialize in low and moderate force techniques using specialized tables to achieve most adjustments. I do a lot of manual adjusting with my hands and also use a drop table. It is not typical for patients to report additional pain or discomfort during or after the adjustment. Patients often feel an immediate improvement in their pain level and ability to move.
